New Flagship Phablet is Local Brand’s Most Stellar Offering Yet

[04 February 2014] Philippine smart devices manufacturer Starmobile officially makes available today the DIAMOND X1, a 6-inch Dual SIM Android smartphone with a ‘True Octa Core processor’, in stores and kiosks nationwide for only P13,990.

“As the first and only one of its kind from a local brand, the Starmobile DIAMOND X1 is quite simply, the brightest Star in our ever expanding universe,” said Starmobile President Michael Chen. “It’s pretty, it’s powerful, and most importantly it’s priced just right for the Filipino consumer,” Chen added.

Powerful, Power Efficient

Unlike other Octa Core smartphones in the market today which simply combine 2 Quad Core processors, the DIAMOND X1’s MediaTek MT6592 chipset has a genuine Octa Core CPU which could run all 8 cores simultaneously whenever necessary.

This makes it great for playing the latest games from the Google Play store, or for watching High Definition (HD) videos and movies on the go.

Yet despite being able to run on full power, the 7mm thin DIAMOND X1 is able keep operating temperatures at a minimum.

This results in more consistent performance, the likes of which cannot be replicated even on its more expensive and popular counterparts.

Internal tests conducted by the leading Taiwanese chipset maker reveal that a leading Octa Core solution reached temperatures hot enough to melt a chocolate bar*.

Super Specs

Complementing the Starmobile DIAMOND X1’s amazing chipset are 2GBs of RAM which enables the phone run multiple applications efficiently, a larger-than-average 8GBs of on-board internal storage (expandable to 64GB** via Micro SD) for storing apps and multimedia files, and Dual Band Wi-Fi for unparalleled multi-tasking via local wireless networks.

Snap-happy users, meanwhile will find the 18 Megapixel Auto Focus rear and 8 Megapixel front cameras with Backside Illumination (BSI) very useful especially for low-light scenarios while music junkies will not be disappointed with the Yamaha loudspeakers’ audio quality.

“To top things off, we made sure that the Starmobile DIAMOND X1 is built to last,” said Chen. “The beautiful HD screen is scratch resistant, and the back is composed mainly of high grade aluminum,” he added.

Also included in the DIAMOND X1 is Starmobile Sync, Starmobile’s proprietary app that enables users to transfer contacts, calendars entries, and more from feature phones or non-Android smartphones via Bluetooth.
